Webcomic Wednesday - Awkward Adventures

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Another day without baseball, and with all of my free time an idea came to me. There’s a webcomic on this page, right? And I like webcomics. I also happen to like alliteration.

Enter Webcomic Wednesday. Consider this the beta version. Every Wednesday I’ll pick a webcomic that is worth checking out. Some may be hugely popular, while others, not so much. They will all have something in common… I enjoy reading them. Without further ado…

Kicking off the first Webcomic Wednesday is none other than Awkward Adventures. I found this gem through Project Wonderful when I was first learning about advertising on the web. It updates Mondays and Fridays, and features the clever duo of Sean and Mimi.

While the art is simple, it is simple in a good way. Mimi uses bright colors and unorthodox panel sizes to give a casual yet crisp look her her (going on sixty) strips. The humor is cute, but often treads in to the awkward (wink, wink), outlandish, and inappropriate banter that takes place between two people that just may be a little too used to each other’s presence.

I’ve started a little list of webcomic links that will be growing over the coming decades, and Awkward Adventures are on top right now… because it’s in alphabetical order, but also because it’s worth reading. So give it a try… you’ll like it! And after you do come back here and leave a message on this post, so the millions of other readers that come through this site can hear what you have to say about it too.

But what if you just like baseball, and not webcomics? Just kidding. Everybody likes fun.
